I've taken my car to Conrad's for the past 20 years and always receive great service. They're expensive, but the work they've done for me has been terrific and is consistently done right. I appreciate the courtesy van and the the counter staff's soft-sell tactics. I've never felt pressured to buy anything.
Stopped in for an alignment. I was told the rear control arms need to be replaced also, as they couldn't be adjusted due to rusty parts. Quoted over $600 for everything. They also had the wrong model vehicle entered into the alignment computer.
What a HORRIBLE experience! You know that feeling you get when you think you are being taken advantage of. Well That's the feeling I had going in and then it was confirmed later after a little research as well as some knowledge myself about how things work. I took my car in because my starter wasn't working. Naturally I hit it a few times with a wrench and got it going. I decided since I needed new tires anyways I might as well drop it off and have both things replaced. So I called and JEFF answered. Told me to bring it in and they will take care of it. I have an old 2002 Toyota Avalon. First he tries selling me some expensive tires for about $100 each. I say I don't need anything that nice, so I get some for $68 each. He then tells me the starter is like a $200 plus part plus labor. Never mentioned exactly how much labor was until I checked on the contract later that the total was $350, then you add on the labor for tires which was $33 each, so he comes up with about $830 for tires and repairs. He then says that if the tires need alignment that will be another $75. So here is where I'm like wow this is really adding up and I already know he's gonna tell me it needs alignment whether it did or not. Mind you, this car is worth about $1300. At this point I just want it done but not happy about having to spend $900. Then I get a call a little later. He tells me something else has to be done with the battery before he can start working on the starter and that it was going to cost me $135 to fix, we are now at $1035, I might as well buy another car. This is where he messed up though. I knew exactly what he was talking about with the battery. I also knew that to fix it it would cost me about $8 and 10 minutes of my time, just needed to go pick up the part. I then researched how much a starter costs. It runs about $75-125. So take the max amount $125 and subtract that from the $350 they were going to charge me and you've got $225 labor for maybe an hours worth of work. So I tell him, DO NOT touch my car after the tires are done. He didn't even question me, he just said, ok, and that's most likely because he realized he knew I caught him trying to screw me. What an absolute joke. I will never again go to a Conrad's to get any type of service done again. They are over priced and will make up reasons to get even more money out of you. Thanks again JEFF.
Worst experience I've ever had! I went to get my tires replaced we waited for over 4 hours and they still didn't even start working on the car. When I asked for my keys back they argued with me and said our car was next up, which was the same damn thing they told us two hours before that. Never going there again
An appointment was made for 2 new tires, a week ago, for today Monday 12-11 @ 8:00 AM. I arrived at 8:00 AM sharp, gave my keys to the fellow at the desk & was told I should be ready to go in about an hour. I waited nearly 45 minutes & noticed my car was still parked where I left it when I arrived. I was very disappointed to have waited 45 minutes, then I asked for my keys as I was heading elsewhere. I was told by the desk fellow that my tires had NOT YET arrived as I was heading to the door. Not even a visit from the manager to explain the situation to me. Maybe they thought I'd stick around a few hours for the delivery. This was POOR customer service & don't believe I'll be returning. KM/Mentor, Oh.
I left and one hour later went to Honda of Mentor. Had the alignment done in normal time for $69. No problems or mentions of any issues that they had.
Avoid this place at all costs. No excuse for false information and rediculously inflated prices. Completely unacceptable.
